Dear Colleagues,
The 2018 NAALT Annual Conference, August 17 thru 19, 2018 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center under the Scientific Chair of Dr. Nicholas Wise was an exciting cutting-edge clinical, research and networking success. The theme of this years meeting was to showcase the tremendous advancement of photobiomodulation therapy in the drug free management of pain. The opening keynote address by Dr. Marie Josee Robichaud entitled “Light for Pain: Translating the Science into Successful Practice” laid the foundation for demonstrating the growth and development of what has become the largest photobiomodulation treatment center in New Brunswick Canada. Dr. Robichaud pioneered the use of laser therapy early in her career combining photobiomodulation therapy in chiropractic medicine in a way that has been very successful in providing patients with pain relief and improved functional capacity resulting in overall satisfaction in their quality of life and reduction in the use of opioid medications.
On Saturday, August 18, 2018, Dr. Chukuka Enwemeka provided a second cutting edge key note address followed by lectures on “Practical Pain Management Incorporating Photobiomodulation Therapy and Photobiomodulation Therapy Designed for Pain Management”.
Cutting-edge presentations continued on Sunday, August 19, 2018, with a key note address by Dr. Hanli Liu, PhD who challenged all of us to think big. How to successfully apply for NIH funding for photobiomodulation research. A host of photobiomodulation leaders continued to teach direct applications of photobiomodulation in dentistry, medically compromised patients, complex regional pain syndrome, neurodegenerative disease, clinical family practice, clinical applications.
This years key note speakers focused on the use of photobiomodulation therapy for pain relief and tissue repair with a strong practical clinical focus including demonstration based workshops.
If you missed this years conference of if you have an interest in seeing some of the presentations again we are in the process of putting presentations on the website for members only. If you are not a member I would encourage you to sign up for membership online.
