The Science Committee of NAALT 2018 is excited to welcome Dr. Justin Rigby, Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Texas State University to be part of the NAALT 2018 faculty this year at the Annual National Conference, August 17, 18 & 19, 2018 at the historic downtown Marriott in Detroit. Dr. Rigby earns his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah, Master’s Degree from Texas State University and his Doctrine from Brigham Young University. This year’s forum will focus on “Photobiomodulation – Drug Free Pain Management”.
Dr. Rigby currently performs and oversees research in the therapeutic interventions laboratory at Texas State University. Dr. Rigby’s laboratory focuses on research to determine the healing and clinical effectiveness of various therapeutic modalities, with a primary focus on light and laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound and transdermal drug delivery systems. Dr. Rigby currently serves as Assistant Professor of athletic training at the Texas State Department of Health and Human Performance. Additionally, Dr. Rigby serves as Therapeutic Interventions Laboratory Director at Texas State Department of Health and Human Performance. Dr. Rigby has over 35 peer reviewed publications and presentations. His focus is determining the clinical effectiveness of therapeutic modalities such as photobiomodulation therapy and attenuating the inflammatory process and facilitating muscle recovery.
Dr. Rigby, a Certified Athletic Trainer since 2008, has applied his research in a variety of settings as an athletic trainer including high school athletes, rehabilitation specialist at a physical therapy clinic and collegiate hockey.
