Conference Program Advertising Specifications

The following are guidelines for submitting digital ads to Conference Program / Magazine. However if you have a situation where something falls outside of these specifications, please feel free to contact NAALT or Jennifer Anderson
Please use the email address below for forwarding of all advertising materials.

Software:

• We prefer Adobe Illustrator and/or Indesign for PC as the primary program of choice.
• We can also accept files in Macromedia Freehand, or as high resolution Adobe PDFs.
• Or a 300 dpi Grayscale tiff file

Fonts:

• Supply all PC printer and screen fonts, including fonts embedded in art files.
• Macintosh files may be submitted, however, because we are working from a PC platform, PC fonts may have to be substituted.
• Pseudo-type commands should not be used (i.e., if italics are desired, then the italic version of the font should be used, not the italic style).
• ANY fonts used in Illustrator or Freehand should also be included
• To ensure best results, please convert all fonts to outlines or paths.

Images / Scans :

• We prefer that scanned images be saved as TIFF or EPS.
• All internal Images and Ads are to be supplied in grayscale.
• All high-res image should be imported and embedded directly into the document.
• Line art should be scanned at 900 dpi and saved as a TIFF. Be sure not to scan line art as a halftone. (In Photoshop, use the "Bitmap" mode.)
• Black and white photos should be scanned at 266 dpi as grayscale. Ideally the shadow dot should not exceed 91%; any dot under 4% will drop to white
• Scan your photograph or transparency as close to the actual reproduction size as possible—a 20% margin plus or minus is optimum.
• For efficient processing of your ad, please avoid sending unnecessarily large high-resolution files.

Sending Ads and Artwork:

• Due to likely time constraints we require that ALL ADS should be compressed and submitted via email to Jennifer Anderson
• All files are preferred zipped for accurate transfer.
• All files MUST be less than 10MB in size. If any files exceed this limit the email will be automatically returned without transfer.
• Emailed files MUST include a medium resolution PDF proof of advertisement.
• Please inform [same email address] us if your files exceed the 10MB limit, and we will provide a temporary FTP account to upload to a server.
